Pastor Chandler
I watched your sermon this morning on WHMB (Indianapolis) concerning God speaking to us through His Word, and how we have to listen. This brought to mind the story of Elijah when he was hiding from Ahab and Jezebel in a cave – 1 Kings 19:9 – “And he came thither unto a cave, and lodged there: and, behold, the word of the Lord came to him, and He said to him…”
19:11-12…”and a great and strong wind rent the mountains, and brake in pieces the rocks before the Lord: but the Lord was not in the wind: and after the wind an earthquake: but the Lord was not in the earthquake: and after the earthquake a fire: but the Lord was not in the fire: and after the fire A STILL SMALL VOICE…” KJV
God doesn’t always “hit us on the head” with revelations sometimes He is “a still small voice” and we always have to be listening for it over the din of worldly things.
Thank you and may God bless you and your calling.
